This type of religion was not as harsh on people and let them focus on good deeds and values. Through this type of religion, Han attracted many people together and gained many followers.

The beginning's of Buddhism first came about during the Han dynasty. Buddhism also helped gain followers in Han dynasty because of the strict practices of legalism in the previous dynasty. Buddhism was worshiped by many because of the freedom, and less punishment. The first documented translation of Buddhism into Chinese scripture came in 148 CE. After scripture became popular the religion was practiced throughout China.
