Zoroastrianism: the religion of persia
Zoroastrianism was the main religion of Persia during the ruling families of Cyrus, Darius, and Xerxes. It was created by a prophet named Zoroaster. The god is Ahura Mazda, which means 'wise lord.' He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. People believe that he was the creator of life and the source of all goodness and happiness. Angra Mangu is the opposite of Ahura Mazda. He is the creator of death. They are similar to God and Satan in Christianity. Ahura Mazda's prophets were called the Amesha Spenta. Zoroastrianism believes in druj (evil) and asha (good) and believe asha leads to peace in Heaven. Much of the Avesta, the scripture, was lost. Zoroastrianism forbid slavery, although slavery was still practiced in Persia.
