In the Han Dynasty the government changed from a legalism style to a Confucianism type. The emperor was the head of the government. The government branched out into several different divisions, however all reported back to the central government leader (emperor). The emperor was responsible for creating laws, heading the armed forces as its commander-in-chief and serving as the chief executive official. Of all good things Confucianism brought, it had some disadvantages like discrimination against women. From government rules parents had to be respected and obeyed, and also had complete control over their children. At the age of six all children were required to study the teachings of Confucius. Parents also had the right to choose their child's husband or wife. Without Confucianism the history of China, China would not have been shaped in the same way and wouldn't have grew and prospered as fast. Over thousands of years have past, and the ideas and philosophies of Confucius are still passed on to future generations.
